Your privacy is paramount. iCendant Chat is designed with a "Local-First" architecture to ensure you remain in control of your data.
1. Data Storage
All conversation history, custom personas, and settings are stored locally within your browser's
IndexedDB storage.
We do not maintain a central database of your conversations. If you clear your browser data, your chat
history will be lost unless you have backed it up manually.
2. AI Model Processing
When you send a message, it is transmitted directly from your browser to the selected AI Provider (e.g., Google Gemini, OpenAI, Groq).
- API Keys: Your API keys are stored locally in your browser and are never sent to iCendant servers.
- Data Retention by Providers: Data sent to third-party LLMs is subject to their respective privacy policies. Please review the policies of Google, OpenAI, etc., regarding how they handle API data. Generally, enterprise/API usage is not used for model training, but this varies by provider.
3. Analytics & Tracking
iCendant Chat does not use cookies or user fingerprinting for advertising. iCendant Chat does use web analytics to understand how our site/application is being used.
